WHERE WE ARE IS NOT JUST A PHYSICAL PLACE
JUST A LITTLE SOMETHING TO REMEMBER.
In the most intensively spiritual time of my life. I was given the realization that ofetn the most empowerng thing we can do is to simply recognize where we are. Physically, we know where we are. That is an easy one. Mentally, spiritually, that is another story. In fact, when I came out of the initial phase of this part of my journey, a little voice said this is your job. I give you no magic wand or secret magical powers, but I want you to help people see where they are in life. To this, it is such a shame we do not have a grander language for the places we travel in our lives, from the inside out. This opens up a very spiritiual view of life that tranacends the things we want and desire and reveals a world of things that we must pass through, whther we like them or not, which counters our default sense of rushing toward what we see as pleasure and avoidning anything that looks like suffering.
To this discussion I am going to lay out some places we cold be at any time of our life. Life is a rollercoaster for all of us. Even those who seem to be on the straight an narrow on the outside, they are often on a rollercoaster on the inside. There are situations in whcih we look like we are headed for flying over a cliff and indeed that is exactly where we are going. BUt there are times, as we all know, when we are just moving little fast on a very windy road, and the road is going to keep us safe.
Before we drill down, let's go over a very tired lesson of mine, which is that life is a thing of gaining experiences, and then walking in circles. Circles do not mean verything is predictable, just more predictable. That our human dramas become manageable because we know what they are. This we are discussing beacuse we revisit things, for better or waorse, and this is no reason to panic or wonder why such things should happen to us. On second, it sometimes reason to to panic and wonder why we are somewhere. BUt we must remove the panic and see if we can identify where we are on this rollercoaster of ours.
PREPARATION
Some of the wisest people of met all see religions holding certain pieces of the puzzle. Christianity holds the notion of being able to be lifted and saved in a moment. FOr life to forgive us for who we have been and give us the energy to evolve without fear or guilt. And it puts forth the powerful notion of the trinity. That is there is the creator of all things, there is humans who are prone to error, and there is a messeneger in the middle, who can guide people to best case scenarios given their human nature. This is not Christinaity alone, but Christianity quite loudly and assertively presents these cornerstones of faith and surrender.
PROCRASTINATION
Honestly, I am not completely sure, but I have found living wisely is a thing of permission. That is rarely do others give us the permission to be wise. We need to give our selves permission to be wise. The minute we belive in something, atke any stand, there are those who see us as ignorant or blind. There will those who question our character and intelligence, perhaps sanity (in my case). Yet every religion has something it which leaves the door open for others cast doubt on us. TO make us worng. All we need is one sentence, once principle, one story, that is alittle out of whack and then we obviously the fool. Welcome to life. Even if take a broad approach and accpet the wisdom and compassion that lies in so many faiths and religions, to whatever degree it does, we become a devil worshipper to many. A misguided fool who is going to hell for thinikng the the love and wisdom of god could descend through so many, if they so choose. And then, to add madness to all of this, almost every religion, almost scripture has buried in it this very point. That we must careful deciding who is representing God or not. That decpetion can lie behind any door. And that, just when we think we know, we don;t. Only God can truly understand or cast judgement. Try to argue this with anyone that has found undying blind faith in anything. .
